Sambhaji Shivaji Bhonsle - The Legend Combatant

Jay Hind Dear Indians,

You often realize, how lucky we are that we are born on a holy land like India. A country where many heroes like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Maharana Pratap, Bhagat Singh was born.

Today’s article will remind you of the traditional culture of India from the modern era of your social media. This article is dedicated to Shri Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.

Sambhaji Maharaj was born on 14 May 1657 at Purandar Fort. At the age of 2, Sambhaji Maharaj's mother Saibai died. And he was taken care of by his grandmother Jijabai. You can guess how intelligent Sambhaji Maharaj was by this point, only at the age of 13 he learned 13 languages it makes him the special in knowledge. We at the age of 25 could not become expert in 3 languages which we speaking daily life.

Along with this, at a small age, he wrote some scriptures and he also became an expert in horse riding, archery, fencing like it was his left-hand game. In the age of fourteen, he wrote three Sanskrit texts like Budhbhushanam, Nakhshikhant, Nayikabheda. He also involved in some crucial wars during his childhood.

After the death of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, a mourning mountain broke over him and Swaraj. But in this situation, Sambhaji Maharaj assumed the responsibility of Swarajya. Some people tried to thrice Anuj Rajaram of Dharmaveer Chhatrapati Shri Sambhaji Maharaj. But this caravan failed due to the commander Hambirrao Mohite. Sambhaji Maharaj was duly crowned on 16 January 1681.

Key Note: Sambhaji fought 128 wars and was invincible in all.

After the demise of Shivaji Maharaj, the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb himself came to Maharashtra to end Swarajya. Aurangzeb attacked Swarajya in 1682. Aurangzeb came to Maharashtra with his 5 lakh soldiers army, a treasury of 14 Crore, 40 thousand elephants, 70 thousand horses and 13 thousand camels. Such was the vast coastline that Aurangzeb's camp was spread over 3 miles. Aurangzeb's strength was greater in all respect than that of Sambhaji Raje. Aurangzeb's Mughal army was more numbered than Swaraj.

Under the leadership of Sambhaji Maharaj, the Marathas were fought with great bravery and did not give a single fort as much as Aurangzeb. Aurangzeb lived around 24 years in Maharastra but did not get success in winning the Maratha as a state. It was for this reason that many Hindu states emerged in the north.

In early 1689, Sambhaji Maharaj summoned his important chieftains to Sangameshwar in Konkan. After completing the meeting, Sambhajiraj was leaving for Raigad, due to which Sambhaji sent only 200 soldiers with him to Raigad. At the same time, one of his friends, whom he refused to give, was given Ganji Shirke, along with the Mughal Sardar Mukarb Khan, with an army of 5000 by the secret route.

This was the path that only the Marathas knew. So Sambhaji Maharaj never felt that the enemy could come from this secret path.

He tried to fight but could not resist the retaliation of 200 soldiers in front of such a large army and he was taken captive with his friend and mentor Kavikalas.

Thereafter Sambhaji and his mentor poet Kalash brought to Aurangzeb and Dharamvir was brought to Bahadurgarh. Aurangzeb asked Sambhaji Maharaj to give him all the forts and would give him life after his conversion. But Sambhaji flatly rejected him.
Aurangzeb wore Sambhajirajay and the poet Kalash in a vidushaki costume. Aurangzeb ordered him to be brutally murdered. Sambhaji Maharaj did not leave Swarajya and Dharma despite enduring harsh torture for nearly 40 days. Aurangzeb got the tongue of both of them, removed his eyes.

But it is said that prior to the murder, Aurangzeb told Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj that if one of my 4 sons was like you, the whole of Hindustan would have merged in the Mughal Sultanate.

Sambhaji Raje was killed on 11 March 1689 at Tuljipur at the confluence of the Bhima and Indrayani rivers. One thing is clear that the work that Aurangzeb and his army could not do in eight years was done by an insider. Aurangzeb killed Sambhaji Maharaj with deceit, but he could not defeat him even if he wanted to. Sambhaji sacrificed his life and protected Hinduism and showed his courage and patience. He defeated Aurangzeb forever.
